The People Behind the Sale

The Dynamic Duo

Rita Stout and Angela Vaive — two Michigan veterans of the estate-sale, antique, and auction world. Combined, they've handled hundreds of homes from one end of mid-Michigan to the other.

Rita Stout

Rita grew up in Williamston, Michigan — a small town where the antique shops outnumber the stoplights — and has spent decades working her way through mid-Michigan estates from her home in Lansing: pricing, researching, hauling, scrubbing, photographing, and ultimately selling the contents of homes that had been lived in for fifty, sixty, eighty years.

"Nothing was ever thrown away."

That line — borrowed from one of her own past sales — captures what she does best. The pieces other companies miss are the ones she finds. The sewing tin tucked behind the canning jars. The signed oil lamp at the back of the closet. The Hitchcock chair under three quilts in the basement.

Angela Vaive

Angela's passion for antiques started at the age of six, hunting for treasures with her grandparents. She graduated from auctioneer school, started her own auction business, and in 2009 was the first in the area to launch an online auction service.

Between Rita's eye for what other companies miss and Angela's auction-grade pricing knowledge, every estate gets the full treatment — researched, staged, photographed, and sold the way it should be.

The Dynamic Duo works with families across Lansing, East Lansing, Williamston, Okemos, Dimondale and the surrounding counties. Whether the estate is a 1950s ranch full of well-loved Pyrex or a country farmhouse with a published collection, the family and the contents get the same care.

Sales are posted on the Upcoming Sales section above and shared on the Facebook page. Phone is always the fastest way to reach them.
